Silversun Pickups’ Bloody Mary (Nerve Endings) Music Video

After what seemed to be decades of waiting, Silversun Pickups‘ music video for their single “Bloody Mary (Nerve Endings)” off of their third album ‘Neck Of The Woods’ was released today.

The music video was directed by James Frost, who also was the mastermind behind Silversun Pickups’ “Panic Switch” music video.

James Frost did not fail to surpass his work on Panic Switch. The music video captures the tone of “Bloody Mary” easily, and puts you on a roller-coaster of emotions.

The beginning of the video starts with time lapses of the beautiful night sky with overlays of each of the band members’ faces. Along with “Mary” herself.

After the chaos settles, Brian Aubert is shown singing the first verse of the song.

The setting for this video could not have been better. The barren wasteland along with the crystal clear blue sky makes for a good contrast.

It takes a couple of watches to catch all of the subtle nuances.

My favorite shot of the entire video is when ‘Mary‘ throws a rock and shatters the mirror, revealing the band members standing behind it.

In my eyes, this video combines both the ‘Panic Switch‘ and ‘The Royal We‘ music videos, and it forms something brilliant, and bone chilling.

This will be my go to song once again while I continue to obsess over Silversun Pickups.
